Lake Nona West Stores: What's Open and What's Coming Next

Five months after its first store opened, Lake Nona West works mainly as an errand center. Homesense, Barnes & Noble, Target, Total Wine & More, DICK'S Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy are all trading on Lake Nona Boulevard. The tenants that would give someone a reason to linger are still under construction: the full-service restaurant, the fudge shop, the Pilates studio and the blowout bar. That order matters more for a fall Saturday than the center's overall size. The 54-acre, 405,000-square-foot center at 5959 Lake Nona Blvd. sits near Boggy Creek Road, southeast of State Road 417. Its developer describes it as "a place designed to stay awhile, not simply pass through." As of early October 2026, mainly the shopping part of that plan is open.

The opening sequence, as of October 3

The table below lists what has opened, what has a date and what is still listed as coming. The dates come from GrowthSpotter, the retailers and Lake Nona's own July update.

Tenant Status Timing
Homesense Open Opened in May 2026
Barnes & Noble Open Opened June 10, 2026
Target Open Opened July 26, 2026
Total Wine & More Open Listed open by July 29, 2026
DICK'S Sporting Goods + Golf Galaxy Performance Center Open Reported open by September 24, 2026
Nordstrom Rack Grand opening scheduled September 24, 2026
Cañonita Lake Nona Coming Late 2026
Sephora Coming No date announced
Kilwins, Drybar, Just Salad, Gloss Nail Co., JETSET Pilates Coming No dates announced

The center's own timeline has already moved. In April, the developer said the center would open in May 2026. Homesense opened that month, but the anchor did not open until late July. In April, GrowthSpotter expected DICK'S and Golf Galaxy to open alongside Target in July. They were still listed as upcoming on July 29 and were reported open by late September. For a weekend plan, the developer's dates are best read as estimates until a store confirms them.

The anchors are the stores most people need every week

The first group of stores covers routine needs. Target opened on July 26 in a nearly 150,000-square-foot building at 6065 Lake Nona Blvd. The developer calls it part of the retailer's newer, larger store format. Homesense has full furniture galleries, and the developer says new inventory arrives throughout the week. Total Wine & More was among the first four stores the developer listed as open.

Barnes & Noble opened its 16,000-square-foot store at 6039 Lake Nona Blvd. at 10 a.m. on June 10. Store manager Adina Frybarger had previously opened the chain's Panama City location, according to the company's announcement. The developer says the store's displays and recommendations are chosen by the local team. Of the open stores, it comes closest to the "stay awhile" idea in the developer's pitch.

Nordstrom Rack's grand opening was scheduled for September 24 at 6015 Lake Nona Blvd., with doors set to open at 9 a.m. The developer says the nearly 26,000-square-foot store will handle pickup and returns for both Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack online orders. Nordstrom Rack's own location page lists regular hours but still has a "Coming Soon" banner, so call ahead before bringing a return.

Where you can already spend an hour

Two features open now go beyond errands, and both reward time spent on site.

The first is the Golf Galaxy Performance Center. It shares 66,562 square feet with DICK'S Sporting Goods, a combination GrowthSpotter reported open on September 24. The Lake Nona store page lists custom club and ball fitting, full-service club repair, trade-ins and simulator rental. The store's booking portal also offers 30-minute lessons and a Youth on Course simulator rental for members. Golf Galaxy's national rate card lists simulator time at $29.99 for 30 minutes and $49.99 for an hour, with prepaid packs that lower the hourly rate. Those prices are not specific to this store, so confirm them when you book.

The second is the art program. Chalk & Brush, a Miami mural studio, painted 30 original murals across the buildings and walkways. The developer says they are spread through the center so they can be found along the way. The largest, "Greetings from Lake Nona West," faces Lake Nona Boulevard and includes The Glass House and Disco the dog. Shaded promenades, pocket parks and gathering greens link the stores, and bike lanes and pedestrian paths connect the center to the rest of the community. Following the mural route makes a short visit a longer one.

There is also a practical reason to stay a while if you drive electric. The Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging hub on site has 20 stalls and is listed as open 24/7. It offers CCS and NACS connectors at up to 400 kW, with a posted price of $0.40 per kWh as of late September.

Most of the reasons to linger are still on the way

Most of the upcoming tenants are the kind people visit for the experience. The list below shows what the developer has announced and what each tenant offers.

  • Cañonita Lake Nona: a 7,700-square-foot, full-service Mexican restaurant and the concept's Central Florida debut. Tavistock Restaurant Collection runs it. The latest timing is "late 2026."
  • Kilwins: chocolates, fudge and ice cream, with fudge made in-store on marble tables.
  • JETSET Pilates: a reformer Pilates studio founded in Miami Beach.
  • Drybar and Gloss Nail Co.: a blowout salon and a female-founded studio focused on natural nail care and Bio Sculpture Gel.
  • Just Salad: described by the developer as the first U.S. restaurant chain to put carbon labels on its entire menu.
  • Sephora: still listed as coming in an October 3 report. The reporter could not reach Sephora for rollout details.

The Cañonita name can be confusing because it is already in Lake Nona. Cañonita Street Taqueria at Boxi Park is a quick-service spot. The Lake Nona West restaurant will offer the full-service menu, and the developer says both locations will stay open. The developer says more openings will follow into early 2027, with more national, local and first-to-market concepts still to be announced.

Until those tenants open, Town Center remains Lake Nona's main evening option. Art Aftr Dark at Town Center brings Orlando Local Makers, artisan goods and food every Friday and Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. On the first and third Wednesdays of each month, the Laureate Park Village Center farmers market runs from 5 to 8 p.m., with upcoming dates on October 7 and October 21. For now, a full Saturday can start at Lake Nona West in the afternoon and end at Town Center in the evening.

The next parcel adds another errand stop

The center's next likely addition is another errand store. In August, Tavistock Development Co. filed a Specific Parcel Master Plan with the city for a 140,000-square-foot hardware store on 15.6 acres just east of Target, GrowthSpotter reported. The filing names only a "hardware store," with no tenant. GrowthSpotter expects Home Depot. Its reasoning is that Lake Nona already has a Lowe's on Narcoossee Road, and the nearest Home Depot is about 10 miles away in the Lee Vista area.

The site plan shows a single building of up to 150,000 square feet with 570 parking spaces. It does not include the murals or EV chargers found elsewhere at Lake Nona West, though GrowthSpotter notes both could be added later. Until a tenant is confirmed, Home Depot remains the expected tenant, not a signed one.

Each new opening at Lake Nona West changes how nearby homes compare, from distance to everyday shopping to how buyers describe the area.
